Parents in the Waukesha area now have a new option for keeping their kids entertained and engaged this summer. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s well-loved College for Kids & Teens (CFK&T) summer enrichment program will be offered in Waukesha for the first time this July.
The Waukesha CFK&T STEAM program offers a hands-on learning experience for students in grades 3-12. With a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM), the program aims to spark creativity and critical thinking in young learners. It features both morning and afternoon classes, providing students with full-day educational activities on weekdays. The classes will be held at Catholic Memorial High School, covering exciting topics such as video game development, graphic novel writing, and spy-themed problem-solving.
Program Details:
- Dates: Two sessions — July 7-18 and July 21-Aug 1
- Times: Morning session (9 am-noon) and afternoon session (1-4 pm)
- Ages: Grades 3-12
- Location: Catholic Memorial High School
- Programming: Hands-on classes led by experienced educators
This new offering in Waukesha builds on the success of the original CFK&T program, which has been running at UW-Milwaukee for 45 years. The original program draws more than 2,000 students each year, and this expansion to Waukesha gives even more families the chance to participate in high-quality summer education.
“We’re excited to bring this enriching experience to Waukesha,” said Ben LaDuke, CFK&T Program Director. “College for Kids & Teens is much more than just a summer camp. It’s an enrichment program that combines project-based learning with hands-on activities, all led by local educators. Students gain valuable skills while having fun.”
With the Waukesha expansion, UW-Milwaukee aims to provide more local students with the opportunity to explore new interests and develop skills that can benefit them both academically and creatively.
