World of Volvo Launches Traffic School for Kids – A Fun Way to Learn Road Safety

by Beatrice

World of Volvo is introducing an exciting new attraction: Traffic School. This outdoor driving track allows children aged seven to twelve to drive electric Volvo cars and trucks in a realistic traffic setting. The experience aims to teach kids the basics of traffic safety in a fun and educational way – and they can even earn their first “driver’s license.”

“Traffic safety has always been a core value at Volvo. With Traffic School, we aim to create an engaging experience that sparks curiosity, helps children understand traffic rules, and provides a lot of fun,” says Viktoria Wallner, Chief Experience Officer at World of Volvo.

The program is designed for children with different levels of knowledge and is ideal for those between seven and twelve years old. The main feature is a specially designed track where kids drive child-sized electric vehicles, modeled after Volvo’s latest designs. They navigate through intersections, pedestrian crossings, and roundabouts, learning important road safety lessons along the way.

More Than Just a Driving Course

Traffic School isn’t your typical driving class. It combines the excitement of driving with lessons on safety, responsibility, and respect for others on the road. The experience is built on educational principles tailored to children’s development and learning abilities.

“It’s about sparking interest in traffic safety and teaching respect for other road users, rather than having a formal driving school approach,” says Emma Bryngelsson, the developer of the educational concept.

Children who participate can also earn a “children’s driver’s license,” which serves as a fun souvenir of the experience.

A Great Addition to World of Volvo

Visitors to World of Volvo can already enjoy a range of experiences, from innovative exhibitions to concerts, stunning architecture, and delicious food from Stefan Karlsson’s Ceno Brasserie. With Traffic School, the attraction becomes even more family-friendly, making it an ideal destination for those with children.

“Traffic School is a fantastic addition to World of Volvo, helping us become a place that offers innovation, inspiration, and experiences for all ages,” says Wallner.

Traffic School will open on May 1, 2025, as part of the regular exhibition. Children must be at least 110 cm tall to participate in the attraction.
