ABB Invests in Mobile STEM Labs to Bridge Educational Inequality in South Africa

by changzheng56

In South Africa, access to high – quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is far from equal. This disparity is especially evident in schools with limited resources.

A study conducted by the Equal Education Law Centre shows some concerning figures. Among the country’s 22,511 public schools, 74% do not have libraries. Moreover, 82% lack laboratories, and 4% have no computer centers. Additionally, only 18% of university graduates specialize in science and engineering. These numbers highlight the urgent need to develop skills for the future.
