Stephen Morgan, the Minister for Early Years, visited Woodlands Park Nursery School and Children’s Centre to highlight the excellent learning opportunities available to young children in Haringey.
During the visit, the Minister was joined by Cllr Peray Ahmet, Leader of the Council, and Cllr Zena Brabazon, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools, and Families. Together, they toured the nursery school and children’s centre, observing the high-quality experiences offered to children.
The government is encouraging parents to secure or renew their childcare funding codes. This allows Haringey families to access vital support.
Starting in September 2025, working parents of children under three will be entitled to double the funded childcare hours, increasing from 15 to 30 hours per week. Currently, families can access 15 hours of childcare for children aged 9 months to 2 years and up to 30 hours for children aged 3 to 4 years. This initiative aims to support early education and reduce costs for families.
Woodlands Park Nursery School is committed to offering more than just traditional education. The school provides a range of stimulating activities both inside and outside the classroom.
The school also places a strong focus on supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Staff carefully assess individual needs and collaborate with external agencies to provide tailored support. This approach ensures that every child receives the guidance they need to thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
