Infants and toddlers in the Early Head Start program at Beatty Early Learning Center now have a dedicated playground.
The Early Head Start program, which started in January, serves children aged 18 to 36 months. This new playground is designed specifically for them, while older preschool children at the school in Superior Township have access to a separate playground.
Principal Keynon Atchison highlighted the uniqueness of having a playground for such young children. “It’s not often you get to see something like this, and it’s an amazing feeling to be part of this program with YCS and WISD,” he said.
The playground, which cost $98,000 to build, features three short slides, climbing areas, small tricycles, and a soft ground cover to ensure safety.
