Parents and carers of young children in Dorset now have access to a new resource aimed at supporting them in raising children aged 0-5. The EasyPeasy app, launched by Dorset Council, provides expert parenting advice and fun, educational activities directly on mobile devices.
The app is designed to help parents, carers, and early years practitioners engage children in playful learning moments throughout their daily routines. It offers a variety of tips and activities that focus on early childhood development, making it easier for families to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities.
EasyPeasy gathers advice and ideas from a wide range of sources, including parents, experts, and brands, providing a trusted resource for families in the crucial early years of their child’s life. Parents can find thousands of simple, fun activities tailored to their child’s age and stage of development, all using materials they likely already have at home.
The app covers several important topics, such as:
- Wellbeing
- Bedtime routines
- Nutrition
- Speech and language development
- Mindfulness practices
Additionally, the EasyPeasy app allows users to share their own parenting tips and experiences, encouraging peer support within local communities.
Councillor Clare Sutton, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Education, and Skills, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating: “This is part of our ongoing effort to ensure our children get the best start in life and are ready for school. The first five years are critical in a child’s development, and we want to help parents and carers support their children during this important time.”
She continued, “The early years come with both exciting milestones and challenges, so it’s fantastic to see such a valuable resource now available for free to families in the Dorset Council area.”
Dorset residents can download the EasyPeasy app for free from the App Store or Google Play store. For more information, visit the Dorset Council website or check out the Family Hubs for further details.
