Students from NWTC are using their skills to improve safety education for children in the Green Bay area.
On Thursday, NWTC Prototype and Design students installed a child-sized police station at Safety Town in Green Bay.
The students spent eight weeks designing and building the police station. They then placed it among the interactive streets of Safety Town, where young children learn important safety lessons.
“This is really fun. I really enjoy what I do here at NWTC. We have been working on this building for eight weeks, and now we are just finishing it. It feels like a deep breath when it is finally done,” said NWTC student Ryan Nolan.
NWTC’s Prototype and Design program is unique. It combines skills in CNC machining, 3D printing, welding, and metal fabrication.
