The Duluth Huskies brought excitement and learning together on Monday as they hosted their annual Education Day, welcoming more than 1,700 students to Wade Stadium.
Children from kindergarten through high school attended the special event, celebrating the end of the school year with a day of baseball.
The event, organized by the Northwoods League team made up of collegiate athletes, gave students a chance to enjoy the game while cheering on the home team.
Although the Huskies fell to the La Crosse Loggers in a 6-0 loss, the young fans helped fill the stadium with energy and enthusiasm. Many left with lasting memories and a deeper connection to the local team.
Huskies General Manager Herb Gibson emphasized the importance of community involvement.
“Sports teams in general reflect community values,” said Gibson. “And we are privately owned, using a public facility, proudly wearing Duluth on our jersey.”
The Duluth Huskies will continue their summer season with their next home game scheduled for Thursday, June 5, once again facing the La Crosse Loggers at Wade Stadium.
