Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) is making summer break an opportunity for hands-on learning with its “College for Kids” program.
This week, about 250 children from the region joined the program to explore a variety of subjects, ranging from pottery to marine life. The camp runs in four weeklong sessions throughout the summer, with the final session scheduled for mid-July.
The program provides an engaging and educational environment, where students can not only have fun but also develop early connections to the university.
“Exposure is key,” said Nicole Larry, director of MSUM’s College for Kids. “Bringing kids to campus helps them have a positive experience, making the university feel more familiar and less intimidating when they return in the future.”
