Pine River-Bucks Community Education, in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension, is launching a free summer gardening program for children in grades three through six.
The program, called “Growing with Nutrition,” will give kids a fun, hands-on way to learn about gardening, healthy eating, and nutrition through weekly interactive activities.
Classes will take place every Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., starting June 10 and running through August 5. Sessions will be held at the PR-B Community Education Building, located at 990 North 1st Street in Pine River.
Space in the program is limited. Families are encouraged to register early by visiting the official website.
The Pine River-Bucks Community Garden is located behind the high school, near the school forest, and west of the soccer field and running track.
In addition to the children’s program, adult gardening classes are also available. PR-B Community Garden members can attend at no cost, while non-members are asked to pay $10 per class.
