“We’re looking at a need for approximately nine million digital talents by 2030,” shared Rudy Salahuddin, an official from the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister, during a December 2023 media briefing discussing the development of the digital economy. The rapid progress of technology has led to a shortage of skilled individuals in the country, particularly in fields such as programming, software engineering, software development, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, as highlighted by Rudy.
