The state government has approved Rs 11,600 crore for the construction of 55 integrated boarding schools aimed at providing quality education to underprivileged children. These schools, to be developed across approximately 25 acres of land, are designed to match the standards of top private boarding schools in the country.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, hailed the move as a historic initiative by the state government.
“This significant allocation is a revolutionary step for education in our state. The Congress government is committed to using every rupee for the benefit of the public, especially the poor, to transform their lives,” said Bhatti. He added that this approval comes after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Education Minister A. Revanth Reddy had previously sanctioned Rs 600 crore for three similar boarding schools.
The new integrated schools will feature modern sports facilities, staff quarters, and a range of amenities for students. Facilities like laboratories, libraries, and mini-theatres will be designed to meet international standards.
Bhatti emphasized that these schools are intended for families who cannot afford the high fees of private institutions. The initiative aims to provide underprivileged children with an education on par with that of private schools.
