A new child care facility, Children’s Garden Carroll County, is preparing to open its doors, offering 68 additional child care slots to the community.
The public is invited to join a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the facility located at 801 W. Columbia St.
The new center will provide essential child care services for families in Carroll County, offering 68 spots for children. According to a press release from Carroll County Economic Development Inc., this facility aims to help meet the growing demand for quality child care in the area.
One of the key goals for the center is to earn a level-4 designation in the Paths to QUALITY program, Indiana’s statewide system for rating and improving early care and education. This would make the center one of the first in Carroll County to achieve this high rating.
“This project has come to life thanks to the hard work and collaboration of many people,” the press release said. “We thank the Carroll County Economic Development Corporation, Purdue University, and the generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc. for their help in making this possible.”
The new center will operate Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It features five classrooms that will accommodate children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. To support the facility, at least 20 staff members will be needed, and the center is currently hiring.
“We are proud to serve our community and provide more options for quality early childhood education,” said Executive Director Samantha Miller. “This facility will not only offer more local child care opportunities but also create professional job openings in the area. We are excited to contribute to the growth of Flora and Carroll County.”
